24/7 Crisis Line
If you or someone you know has experienced a crime, traumatic event, or abuse, you are not alone. Our highly trained Crisis Advocates are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide immediate, confidential, and compassionate support.
CRISIS ADVOCACY
EVCA Crisis Advocates—both professional staff and dedicated volunteers—are trained to support survivors of crime and trauma with care and respect. Advocates help by:
Explaining victims’ rights and available compensation
Providing person‑centered emotional support
Connecting survivors with resources through criminal justice partners and social service agencies
Creating personalized safety plans
Securing safe shelter when needed
Our advocates walk alongside survivors with gentle, steady support during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
CRISIS COUNSELING
EVCA follows a trauma‑informed, person‑centered model of care. We offer individual crisis counseling to help survivors navigate:
Grief and loss
Anger and emotional regulation
Post‑traumatic stress
Depression and anxiety
Coping skills
Understanding how trauma affects individuals, families, and communities
Trained EVCA Advocates also facilitate weekly support groups—and additional groups as needed—to provide connection and healing for survivors of crime and trauma.
SAFEHOUSE
My Sister’s Place is a confidential, three‑bedroom domestic violence safehouse dedicated to providing safety, stability, and non‑violent living. The shelter includes:
Three private bedrooms
A children’s playroom
A full kitchen
Laundry facilities
A large shared living area
If you need safe shelter, call our office at (970) 577‑9781. After hours, contact the Estes Park Police Department Dispatch Center at (970) 586‑4000 and ask for an Advocate.
COMMUNITY EDUCATION & OUTREACH
Supporting survivors is only part of our mission—we are equally committed to preventing violence and trauma in our community. EVCA provides:
Weekly Women’s Support Groups
Community presentations and trainings
Partnerships with the Estes Park School District, Eagle Rock School, Estes Park Police Department, Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, and local social service agencies
If your organization would like to learn more about EVCA or request an outreach presentation, we can connect you with a staff member who specializes in community education.
VOLUNTEERING
EVCA Volunteer Crisis Advocates complete more than 40 hours of online training through the OVC‑TTAC program, followed by in‑person instruction and ongoing professional development. Advocates attend monthly meetings and participate in regular trainings with experts from across the region to ensure best practices in crisis response.
